The Way of Holding PBL Classes:
Methodology of the 7-Jump in the Teaching Class

An authentic and complex written presentation of a problem is the starting point of each learning class activity. The text is explained by the students who work as a group. Terms are explained by the students. After that, the students determine the type of action to be taken and define the problem. Later on, the students analyse the problem and take joint action to work out suggestions for a solution. During the next step, the students check their results and put the learning objectives into words.

At this point, the group work is finished for the time being and each student starts to make investigations on his/her own or in small groups in order to achieve the formulated learning objectives. For this purpose, the media library is avail-able consisting of computers, Internet access, online magazines, books, CDs, videos and anatomic models. During the learning classes' next meeting, the students collect the results of their work, develop a synthesis, check any new information and evaluate such information. The kind of holding classes as described above is also known as the methodology of the 7-jump.
